NEW SKIN
Concert & stage performance, Ultimafestivalen / Black Box Teater (2017)
New Skin is a scenic production in between a concert and an installation, conceived, produced and performed by composer Ingvild Langgård and scenographer Signe Becker.
New Skin is a requiem for the future, a ceremonial presenting of a disembodies history, where skeletons, limbs, paintings, sounds and melodies seep out from the dark and unite into new constellations. In bits and pieces, whispering, singing and roaring, we will awaken something new out of the knuckles, break down old power structures, build a new narrative, invoke a new consciousness, a new potential human. We will lead you backwards into the future while signals from pop culture, mythology and old forgotten female goddesses are channeled from the darkness and into the stage light.
New Skin premiered at the Ultima Festival for Contemporary Music 2017. It was selected for the Heddadagene theatre festival in Oslo, and the 4+4 days in motion 23rd International Festival of Contemporary Art, Prague, 2018, and has performed at BIT Teatergarasjen, Bergen and Atalante, Gøteborg.
A scenic force expression. It is as if the artistic duo is so unstoppable that even technology should fear them.
