SKELETON WOMAN
Concert performance (2020-)
Skeleton Woman is a site specific work, part choir piece, part scenic performance, part live sculpture with ritual and mythical aspects. Embodied by nine singers and dancers, we recollect a primordial power that collapses and resurrects again and again, and give life to a new possible femininity – one that may be frightening, powerful and raw. The music spans from a guttural murmured cluster to raw choir song inspired by Bulgarian choir music. Finally the performance settles with a newly written kvad, influenced by Norwegian folk music and medieaval ballads. All music is performed a cappella by the nine performers.
Nominated to Heddaprisen 2022 for best audio design and for best costumes.
Magical half an hour. A human installation, absurd and beautifiul at the same time.
