LEAR
Music for stage, Det Norske Teatret (2020)

Music for a rewritten version of Shakespeare´s King Lear. All music is composed for and developed in close collaboration with tuba player Heida Karine Jóhannesdóttir Mobeck and performed live on stage by her. In addition to this, some vocal arrangements were performed a cappella on stage by actor Judy Nyambura Karanja and eight extra performers.

Among several good parts, Håkon Ramstad delivers a beautiful interpretation of King Lear (...) One of his most important co-players is jazz tubaist Heiða Karine Jóhannesdóttir, who performs Ingvild Langgård´s compositions from the stage. The tones underlines an uncanniness in the sincerity, the absurdity of the tragedy even taking place.
