COSMIC BODY
Music for dance performance (2015)

Cosmic Body is a thoroughly orchestrated gesamtkunstwerk, a choreography of lights, illusions, sounds, moving bodies and objects. Noticeable inspired by the idea of perpetual motion and kinetic flow, Cosmic Body is constructed as something joyously hypnotic and mischievously spacious. The synergy and shifting relationships of elements and bodies creates an intensity that aims for an immersion of the spectators. The piece speaks to the activity of changing perspective and floating visions in attempt to capture an altered state of perception. The expansion of choreography in interplay with the environment, explores the boundaries between spectacle and participatory event, where the kosmisches music of Krautrock meets Einstein on the Beach, and hints at the minimalism of Terry Riley. Cosmic Body opens for an expansion of the term «deep listening», instead making it «deep spectatorship», and may be perceived as performance art´s answer to the perpetual mobile.

Cosmic Body was nominated for Heddaprisen 2016 (Norwegian National Theatre Award) for Best scenography and costumes.

"n a quiet euphoria the audiences are immersed in spinning orbits (...) Towards the end of Cosmic Body it is as if I am standing in a hall, a wardrobe between several dance floors at a club. A heavy bass can be heard, far away, and while the room is spinning and the bodies on the floor do the same, it is as though I too have fallen into this movement. And I will remain there
